When the first few calls come in, the call center is
alerted and a message is loaded in the IVR system notifying all callers
in the affected area that a problem is known and corrective action is
being taken. If callers still want to speak with an agent, they have
that option. However, most callers are content with a message and stop
there. The application frees up agents to handle normal transactions or
provide assistance to customers in non-effected areas.
